Utilitarian

My love of clay began in my study of Anthropology and looking at artifacts of vessels. This led my desire to make pots, or as I considered them, future artifacts. Although my work has shifted over the years, I still love making utilitarian pieces. I am drawn to the directness of a pot as an object that intimately connects. I often think of the potential user as I construct the forms, imagine the objects in hands, in use, in homes, collecting evidence of lives being lived.
