Torn Geographies
These objects began as a translation of movements through the landscape of my walk. I experimented by laying down small bits of torn clay into the shape of the lands topography, creating a map of the shifts of geologic features. I then translated the horizontal land into the vertical contours of containers referencing and combining the profiles of different historic vessels. This process shaped my Torn Geographies series, a reflection of past and future landscapes through body, clay, and vessel, an interweaving of form, content, and materiality.
